Pattern Notes

Shawl Design
This pattern is worked from the bottom up with a knitted on border.
The main body is worked first and then the knitted on border is attached on two sides of the triangle.
The shawl begins at the bottom by casting on three stitches. Heart lace pattern is worked back and forth to form the main body. Triangle shape is achieved through one increase on each side of the right side rows via yarn overs. Once the desired height of the shawl is reached by working multiple repeats of lace pattern, all the stitches are bound off. Knitted on border is worked next and attached to the two sides of the triangle. This shawl needs to be blocked well to bring out the lace pattern.
Please note that the shawl size can be changed by working more or less repeats of lace pattern in main body. Number of lace edge pattern repeats will change accordingly.

Chart Notes
Please note that the charts do not show wrong side rows. Even numbered rows are wrong side rows and are always worked as – K1, purl till last stitch, k1.
The right side rows shown in chart are to be read from right to left.
For row 37 to 59, stitches inside the red block form the repeat section.

Shawl Construction
Cast on 3 stitches and work the setup rows from 1 to 35.
Continue to work row 37 to 59. Repeat rows 37 to 59 a total of 7 times.
Bind off all the stitches loosely.
To work on the border next, cast on 7 stitches using knitted cast on. Purl one row, then continue to work row 1 of lace edge pattern. Work row 1 to row 8 of lace edge a total of 54 times. Bind off loosely. Attach the border to two sides of the shawl.
Block well and weave in ends.
