Finishing
Weave in all remaining ends, darning holes at thumb join, if necessary. Using a top-loading washing machine, wash mittens in hot water, preferably with several towels or pairs of jeans. It may be helpful to cut a drinking straw and insert into the thumbs of the smallest sizes, to keep the thumbs from felting shut. Check the mittens often for length, as the machine is going through its agitation cycle. Make sure the thumbs are not felting together. If they start to, you can pull them back open with a wooden spoon handle. When mittens have felted down to 4 (5, 5.5, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10)”/ 10 (12.5, 14, 16.5, 18, 19, 21.5, 23, 24, 25.5) cm, or desired length, rinse with cold water, squeeze excess water out, and shape and dry.

I thought I was getting the pattern of white mittens with felted flowers that is shown on ravelry.com
Hi Sarah! That would be this pattern, which is based on the above pattern! https://www.ilikeknitting.com/magazine/knitting-glove-and-mitten-patterns/flower-day-mittens/
