Yarn: Baah Sonoma (100% merino; 233 yards [213 meters]/100 grams): Grey Onyx (MC, 1 skein), Pink Tourmaline (CC1, 1 skein), Gold Rush (CC2, 1 skein), Singin’ the Blues (CC3, 1 skein)
Note: You use about 90 yards of the main color and 6 yards each of the contrast colors.
Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) straight needles
Notions: Tapestry needle

Mitt (Make 2)

With MC CO 44 sts.
Row 1 (WS): P2, *k1, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 2 (RS): *k1, p1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Repeat Rows 1-2 until work measures 1.5” from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.
Row 3 (RS): Knit.
Row 4 (WS): Purl.
Row 5 (RS): With CC1 k3, sl2 wyib, *k4, sl2 wyib; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 6 (WS): K3, sl2 waif, *k4, sl2 wyif; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 7: With MC *k2, sl1 wyib; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 8: *P2, sl1 wyif; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Row 9: With CC1 *sl2 wyib, k4; rep from * to last 2 sts, sl2 wyib.
Row 10: *Sl2 wyif, k4; rep from * to last 2 std, sl2 wyif.

Continue repeating Rows 3-4 until mitt measures 5” from CO edge.
Repeat Rows 1-2 for 1”.

Finishing

Using the mattress stitch method seam from the bottom up towards the top 2” to just above the first colorwork pattern. Seam 2” from the top of the mitt towards the bottom. Weave in ends and trim. Wash and block lightly.yarn ball

      It looks like a typo. Should probably be wyif, which means you will be slipping the Stitches purl wise with the yarn held in front.
