Stripe Pattern: Each stripe is 14 rows, beginning with a RS row.
How to pick a size: Measure yourself across the back from the center of your underarms, then choose the size that most closely corresponds to that measurement, choosing the larger size if between sizes. This vest has no front closures and does not meet in the front.

Fold hem to inside along turning row. Using MC, sew hem to garment through the first purl bumps of the CC stripe, matching stitch for stitch.
Armhole Edging
Using 16” needle and CC, begin at center of Underarm BO, pick up 1 st in every bound-off st, then 2 sts for every 3 rows around Armhole, then 1 st in every remaining bound-off st. Join to work in the round.
K 3 rnds.

Back Neck Pleat
Find center of Back Neck. Bring fabric from each side of neck to center, overlapping about 2 sts on each side. Safety pin in place.
Front/Neck Edging
Using 60” needle and CC, with RS of piece facing, begin at Right Front bottom edge. Be sure to pick up through both layers of hem. Pick up 2 sts for every 3 rows up to back neck BO, then 1 st in every bound-off st of back neck, being sure to pick up through both layers of fabric at the pleat, then 2 sts for every 3 rows down left edge of piece.
Work in St st for 4 rows.

I-cord Tie
Using MC and a DPN, CO 4 sts.
*Slide sts to right end of needle. Using second DPN, k4. Do not turn; slide sts to right end of needle and pull yarn tightly across back of sts. K4. Rep from * until i-cord meas 50 (50, 55, 55, 60, 60)” long.

Try on Vest and note where you would like waist tie to sit. At each side, use a small crochet hook to create a 6-chain loop at level of waist. Fasten off yarn ends on inside. Thread tie through loops to hold tie in place.
