The body is knit from the bottom up, without waist shaping so the lace pattern is easy. Treat yourself to a new cardigan this summer.

Pattern Notes

The body is knit from the bottom up in one piece to the underarms. The right front sleeve stitches are cast on, then the right front is knit to the shoulders. The right back sleeve stitches are picked up from the cast-on of the right front sleeve, then the left back sleeve stitches are cast on. The back is worked to the shoulders, then the right shoulder is joined using the three needle bind-off. The left front sleeve stitches are picked up from the left back sleeve cast-on stitches, then the left front is knit to the shoulder where it is joined to the back with the three-needle bind off. The neckband and buttonbands are picked up and knit in k2, p2 ribbing.

Work in Eyelet Peak Pattern until piece measures 14″ [35.5 cm] from beg, ending after WS Row 2 or 6 of pattern.

Right Front

Next Row (RS): Work 41 (44, 47, 50, 53, 56, 59, 62, 65, 68, 71, 74) sts in Eyelet Peak Pattern, work into the next st but keep the st on the left needle (it is used for both the right front and the back), place that st and the remaining 125 (134, 143, 152, 161, 170, 179, 188, 197, 206, 215, 224) sts onto st holder or waste yarn for back and left front — 42 (45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 60, 63, 66, 69, 72, 75) sts remain for right front.

Place the 35 (35, 40, 40, 46, 46, 51, 51, 57, 57, 62, 62) held right front sts onto an empty needle. Holding the right sides together, use the three-needle BO to join the right front and Back sts together. Break yarn.

Place sts for left back onto a st holder or waste yarn. Break yarn and set aside.

Left Front

Return 42 (45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 60, 63, 66, 69, 72, 75) held left front sts onto circular needle.

Shape Sleeve

Sleeve Cuffs

Pm for beg of rnd and divide sts evenly over 3 or 4 dpns.

Work 7 rnds in K2, P2 Ribbing.

BO all sts loosely.

Repeat for second sleeve.

Neckband

Buttonhole Band

Work 3 rows in K2, P2 Ribbing, ending after a WS row.
