Yarn: Cascade Yarns Elysian (60% Superwash Merino, 40% Acrylic; 219 yards [200 meters]/100 grams): #20 Potting Soil (MC), 6 (6, 7, 8) balls; #21 Red Clay (C1), 1 ball; #1 White (C2), 1 ball; #38 Marigold (C3), 1 ball

Needles: US size 5 (3.75mm): straight and 16” circular

With MC, CO 110 (122, 138, 150) sts.

Work even in 2/2 Rib for 2”, inc 2 (2, 2, 4) sts on last WS row – 112 (124, 140, 154) sts.

Set-up Row (RS): K1 (7, 5, 2) sts, place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pattern to last 1, (7, 5, 2) sts, place marker, knit to end of row.

Keeping sts between markers in Cable Pattern and rem end sts in St st, work even until Back measures 15” from CO edge, ending with a WS row.

Begin Underarm Shaping

BO 8 (12, 15, 16) sts at beg of next 2 rows – 96 (100, 110, 122) sts.

Dec 1 st each end every RS row 4 (5, 7, 8) times – 88 (90, 96, 106) sts.

Work even in established patt until piece meas 7½ (8, 8½, 9)” above bound-off underarm sts, ending with a WS row.

Shape Back Neck and Shoulders

Mark center 22 (22, 24, 28) sts.

Next Row (RS): Work to first marker, join second ball of yarn and BO marked center sts, work to end of row – 33 (34, 36, 39) sts at each side of neck.

Working on both sides of neck with separate balls of yarn, dec 1 st at each neck edge every row 3 times, AT THE SAME TIME, BO at each arm edge 10 (10, 11, 12) sts twice, then 10 (11, 11, 12) sts once more.

Front

Work as for Back to Begin Underarm Shaping, ending with a WS row – 112 (124, 140, 154) sts.

Begin Underarm Shaping and Set-up Yoke Pattern

Mark center 50 (50, 70, 70) sts.

Next Row (RS): BO 8 (12, 15, 16) sts, work established Cable Pattern to first marker, work Row 1 of Yoke Chart for your size over 20 (20, 30, 30) sts, work established Cable Pattern over next 10 sts, work Color Chart patt over next 20 (20, 30, 30) sts, work established Cable Pattern to end of row – 104 (112, 125, 138) sts.

Next Row (WS): BO 8 (12, 15, 16) sts, cont in est patt to end of row – 96 (100, 110, 122) sts.

Keeping sts between markers in newly established Yoke Chart patt and rem sts in Cable Pattern, shape Armhole same as for Back – 88 (90, 96, 106) sts.

Work even until Armhole meas 4½ (5, 5½, 6)” above bound-off underarm sts, ending with a WS row.

Shape Front Neck

Mark center 14 (14, 16, 16) sts.

Next Row (RS): Work to first marker, join second ball of yarn and BO marked center sts, work to end of row – 37 (38, 40, 45) sts at each side of neck.

Working on both sides of neck with separate balls of yarn, BO at each neck edge 2 sts twice. Dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 3 (3, 4, 5) times – 30 (31, 32, 36) sts.

Work even until piece meas same as for Back above bound-off underarm sts.

Shape shoulders as for Back.

Sleeves

With MC, CO 58 (58, 62, 66) sts.

Work even in 2/2 Rib for 3”, ending with a WS row.

Set-up Row (RS): K14 (14, 16, 18) sts, place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pattern over 30 sts, place marker, k to end of row.

Keeping sts between markers in Cable Pattern and rem end sts in St st, inc 1 st each end every 6th row 8 (15, 16, 18) times – 74 (88, 94, 102) sts.

Work even until piece meas 18 (18, 18½, 18½)” from CO edge, ending with a WS row.

Shape Sleeve Cap

BO 8 (12, 15, 16) sts at beg of next 2 rows – 58 (64, 64, 70) sts.

Dec 1 st each end every RS row 4 (5, 7, 8) times – 50 (54, 50, 54) sts.

BO 7 (8, 7, 8) sts at beg of next 4 rows.

BO rem 22 sts.

Finishing

Block each piece to schematic.

Neckband

Sew shoulder seams.

With RS facing and 16” circular needles, join MC at shoulder seam, pick up and knit 1 st in each row or st around Neckline. Adjust amount of sts, if necessary, to equal a multiple of 4.

Place marker between first and last st.

Ribbing Rnd: *K2, p2; rep from * around.

Rep Ribbing Rnd 6 more times.

BO loosely in pat.

Assembly

Sew Sleeves into armholes. Sew sleeve and side seams.

Weave in all ends
