One more thing, where is the table mentioned in the Shape Neck instructions: “Cont shaping rows per table but rows have inc on hem edge and a dec on neck edge”?

I’ve just finished the neck shaping for the left front, the next 2 rows continue the increases on the hem side & the decreases at the neck. These 2 rows are to be continued until a total of 222 rows are complete. My question is how to count the previous rows. When counting the 4 “Shape Neck” rows for a total of 6 times, the count ends on row 93, but when counting only the rows that go end-to-end, the total is 83 rows on the long side & 50 rows on the short side. Which is the basis of the 222 total?

  • I am unsure what the Hem Edge Increase is supposed to be. Can you explain that?

      Right Front
      Cast on 50 sts provisionally.
Note: Use any provisional cast on you prefer.
Set-Up Row 1 (Wrong Side): [K4, work Row 1 of Wishbone Cable pattern] 3 times, k4, work Row 1 of Right Front Cable pattern.
Row 2: Work next row of Right Front Cable pattern, p4, [work next row of Wishbone Cable pattern, p4] 3 times.
Row 3: [K4, work next row of Wishbone Cable pattern] 3 times, k4, work next row of Right Cable pattern.
      Rows 4–45 (51, 57, 63, 69): Repeat last 2 rows 21 (24, 27, 30, 33) times, continuing in patterns as established.

The instructions refer to the 2 cable patterns. You need to keep track of which row of each pattern you are in while knitting your current row.

Hope this helps! – Nicola, Editor

    Hi,
I was wondering the same thing about diagrams for this pattern. Written instructions are a little confusing without them.
    Thanks

Your other sweaters have schematics. this one needs them; it is knit sideways, the fronts have odd shaping– can you possibly supply the diagrams of the individual pieces?
    thanks
