Felix Knotted Scarf

Felix is a fun scarf to add to any outfit in any season. Knit end to end with minimal shaping, this is a fantastic project for a beginner who wants something with more interest than a rectangular scarf. Finished off with tassels, this scarf looks best when tied together for the perfect accessory.

Skill Level: Beginner

Sizes: S/M (L/XL, 2XL/3XL) to fit bust sizes 32-38 (40-46 48-54)

Gauge: 32 sts and 56 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Garter st after wet blocking

Materials

Super fine weight yarnYarn: Cascade Yarn Heritage Wave (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon; 437 yards [400 meters]/100 grams): 509 Stained Glass (1 (2, 2) balls)

Needles: US size 2 (2.75 mm) straight

Notions: Tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

This scarf is worked side to side with shaping to make the points at each end.

Tassels are added during finishing.

Pattern

Increase Section

CO 3 sts.

Rows 1: K1, kfb, k to end. (1 st inc’d)

Rows 2-5: Knit.

Work Rows 1-5 a total of 27 times. (30 sts)

Even Section

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: Knit.

Rep Rows 1-2 until piece meas 50 (58, 64)” from CO edge.

Decrease Section

Rows 1: K1, k2tog, k to end. (1 st dec’d)

Rows 2-5: Knit.

Work Rows 1-5 a total of 27 times. (3 sts)
BO all sts.

Tassel (make 2)

Wind yarn 70 times around your hand or the length of a box of cards. Cut yarn.

Cut 10” length of yarn, thread through one end of Tassel and tie in a knot (this is the top).

Slip loops off of your hand/card deck. Wind a length of yarn around the loops about 0.75” from the top several times and tie off tightly. Cut Yarn.

Cut the loops at the bottom of the tassels to make the tassel’s fringe.

Rep to make second tassel.

Finishing

Weave in ends.

Tie a Tassel to each end of Scarf.
