Midwest Magnificence Colorwork Cowl

This cowl, perfect for the cold Midwestern weather, is covered with fun, colorful non-traditional fair isle designs, such as checkerboards, diamonds and chevron stripes. Based off of the classic Southwestern Splendor Colorwork Cowl, this project is worked in the round with deep, ribbed borders in a 2×2 rib. It can easily be made longer by casting on more stitches and the changing patterns and colors give the knitter enough of a challenge to keep it interesting.

Intertwining Fieldstone Cables Scarf

Unlike typical cabled scarves with orderly lines of cabled stitches, this beauty showcases two side cables that hug the lines of the center cable. The effect is a complex-looking accessory that’s as fun to knit as it is to wear. Check out the original project that inspired this new creation in the February 2016 issue (the Intertwining Cables Scarf). Plus, don’t miss the adorable cowl version right in this issue.
