Pattern Notes

Both the hat and mittens are knit in the round from the bottom-up. The mittens are increased to incorporate a thumb gusset before stitches are placed aside for the thumb. The remainder of the mitten is completed before the top is grafted together. Then the stitches for the thumb are placed back on DPNs, extra stitches are picked up and the thumb is worked in the round. Both hat and mittens are almost entirely charted, with different charts for each size.
