Inspired by JRR Tolkien’s “Tree and Leaf” collection of fairy tales, Tree and Leaf is an asymmetrical, seamless cardigan mostly worked flat from the top down with short raglan sleeves. The design features an easy and fun lace panel for sleeves, front waist shaping and twisted rib edges.

Yarn: Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% merino, 30% silk; 150 yards [137 meters]/50 grams): Pacific (4 (5, 7, 8, 9) skeins)
Needles: US size 6 (4.0 mm) 24” circular needles, US size 7 (4.5 mm) 24” circular or different size to obtain gauge
Notions: Markers (4 in color A, 6 in color B), stitch holders, tapestry needle, two .75” buttons
Abbreviations
M/sm/rm: Marker, slip marker, remove marker.
M1L: Make one left: pick up the bar between the sts from front to back with the left needle, and knit this bar through the back loop.
M1R: Make one right: pick up the bar between the sts from back to front with the left needle, and knit it through the front loop.

Using smaller needle, begin at the bottom edge of right front with right side facing; puk 101 (103, 107, 113, 121) sts. (Pick up approx. 3 sts every 4 rows along right front). You will need an odd number of sts.
Rows 1, 3 and 7 (WS): P1tbl, * k1, p1tbl rep from * to end.
