3/3 LC: Sl 3 sts onto cn, hold in front, k3, k3 from cn

Pattern is worked in pieces from bottom up, back, front, sleeves then assembled.

To get the correct size for sizes medium, large, and 2X, 8 sts are added to each side of front and back.

With smaller needles cast on 122 (146, 170, 194, 218). Work k2, p2 ribbing for 2″. Switch to larger needles and work the cable pattern until piece measures 16 (15.5, 16, 15.5, 16)”.

Armhole shaping

Bind off 13 (22, 33, 43, 53) sts at the beginning of next 2 rows. 96 (102, 104, 108, 108) sts remaining.

Cont. working in pattern as established until piece measures 23 (23, 24, 24, 25)”.

Back neck shaping

Work in pattern as established on next 36 (38, 38, 38, 41) sts. Attach another ball of yarn. Bind off next 24 (26, 28, 32, 30) sts and work last 36 (38, 38, 38, 41) sts.

Work both sides at the same time decreasing 1 st every other row 4 times. 32 (34, 34, 34, 37) sts remain for each shoulder. Work in pattern as established until piece measures 25 (25, 26, 26, 27)”. Place all sts on holder to be bound off with front shoulder sts.

Front

Work same as back including armhole shaping. Work in pattern as established until piece measures 19 (19, 20, 20, 21)”.

Front neck shaping

Work in pattern as established on next 36 (38, 38, 38, 41) sts. Attach another ball of yarn. Bind off next 24 (26, 28, 32, 30) sts and work last 36 (38, 38, 38, 41) sts.

Work both sides at the same time decreasing 1 st every other row 4 times. 32 (34, 34, 34, 37) sts remain for each shoulder. Work in pattern as established until front measures 25 (25, 26, 26, 27)”. Using 3-needle bind off technique, bind off front shoulder sts with matching back shoulder sts.

Sleeve (Make 2)

With smaller needles cast on 50 (50, 50, 58, 58) sts. Work k2, p2 ribbing for 2″. Switch to larger needles and cable pattern increasing one stitch on each side every 2 rows 30 (30, 33, 36, 41) times and every 4 rows (6, 8, 9, 8, 7) times. 122 (126, 134, 146, 154) sts.

Cont in pattern as established until sleeve measures 20 (20, 20, 21, 22)”. Bind off all sts loosely.

Finishing

Neckline Finishing

With smaller needles and starting from center of back neck, pick up and knit 100 (104, 108, 120, 128) sts around the neckline and work k2, p2 ribbing for 2″. Do not bind off. Fold the ribbing toward the inside and using the tapestry needle sew the last round of sts to the edge of the beginning round.

Sew sleeves into the armhole. Sew the side seams. Sew sleeves seams. Block top to size.
