Materials
Yarn: The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino, 25% Llama, 20% Silk, 15% Linen); 545 yards [498 meters]/100 grams): Cherry Blossom (2 hanks)
Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle for cast on and 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle or straight needles for knitting the scarf.
Notions: One marker, tapestry needle, blocking equipment.
Special Stitches
Garter Stitch
Row 1 (RS): knit all sts
Row 2 (WS): knit all sts
Stretchy Bind Off
- Knit two sts.
- Insert the left-hand needle into the two sts through the front and knit the sts together.
- Knit one st.
Repeat steps 2-3 until you have one st left, cut yarn and pull it through the last st.
Pattern notes
The scarf starts with Turkish Cast On and is worked from center towards the ends. Half of the stitches are put on hold while first part of the scarf is knitted. Then the held stitches are transferred on the needles and the other end knitted.
Pattern
With smaller needles and using Turkish Cast On, CO 81 sts (you will have 81 sts on each needle).
Change to larger needles.
Set up row 1 (RS): K all sts.
Set up row 2 (WS): Sl1p wyif, k3, p to 4 sts before end, k3, k1 tbl.
Now transfer the unworked 81 sts from the other needle to scrap yarn.

Work Rows 1-6 nine (9) times more or until first half of scarf is desired length.
Edge
Work four (4) rows of Garter Stitch.
BO all sts knitwise using Stretchy Bind Off.
Second half
Transfer held sts onto larger needles. With WS facing work Set up rows 2-4.
Work Body pattern repeat fifty (50) times, then work Lace pattern repeat ten (10) times. Work four rows of Garter Stitch. BO all sts knit wise using Stretchy Bind Off.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Place the scarf in lukewarm water and let it soak thoroughly. Gently squeeze out the excess water. Place on a towel and roll in to remove further moisture. Lay on flat surface, block to measurements and let dry completely.
