Picot Cast-On: Make a slip knot and place on left-hand needle. Knit into the stitch and place stitch, knitwise, on the left-hand needle in front of the slip knot (this is a knitted cast-on). Continue in this manner and cast-on 3 more stitches for a total of 5 sts. Knit into the first 2 stitches, pull the first knit stitch over the second knit stitch and off the right-hand needle to bind off 1 st. Knit the next stitch and bind it off. Pass the remaining stitch on the right-hand needle back to the left-hand needle. *Use the knitted cast-on, again, to cast on 4 more sts. Knit and bind of the first 2 sts.* Rep from * to * until you have cast-on the desired number of stitches (this technique casts on 1 picot for every 3 sts).
Picot Bind-Off: Knit the first 2 sts and bind off 1 st using the traditional bind-off method. Transfer the remaining st back to the left-hand needle. *Use the knitted cast-on to cast on 3 sts. Bind off 5 sts.* Rep from * to * until 1 st remains. Cut the yarn and pull through the last st.
Pattern
Cast on 130 sts using the Picot Cast-On technique. Work Meath Stitch until piece measures a finished length of approximately 64″ from cast-on edge. Bind off using the Picot Bind-Off technique.
Finishing
