Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Superwash (100% superwash wool; 110 yards [100 meters]/50 grams): Marina (2 balls)
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle and set of 4 DPNs
Notions: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Pattern
CO 100 (110, 120, 130) sts. PM and join to work in the rnd.
Work 10 rounds in Garter Stitch.
Switch to Rib Pattern
Rnd 1: *K2, p1, k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 2: K3, *p1, k4; rep from * to 2 sts before end of rnd, p1, k1.
Rep these 2 rnds until Hat measures 6.25 (6.5, 7, 7.5) inches. Switch to DPNs and work crown decreases.
Crown
Rnd 1: *K1, ssk, p1, k2tog, k1, p1, k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 2: K2, *p1, k3; rep from * to 2 sts before end of rnd, p1, k1.
Rnd 3: *K1, k3tog, k1, p1, k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 4: K4, *p1, k5; rep from * to 2 sts before end of rnd, p1, k1.
Rnd 5: *K2tog, k1, p1, k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 6: K3, *p1, k4; rep from * to 2 sts before end of rnd, p1, k1.
Rnd 7: *Ssk, p1, k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.

Finishing

Cut yarn and pull through remaining stitches. Pull tight and tie off.

DPNs stands for “Double Pointed Needles” You’ll find them near the regular knitting needles and they usually come in a pack of 5 or 6. ~Chris
