Billie Chenille Hat

Billie utilizes the lightweight but cozy texture of chenille with a braided cable for a look that just can’t be beat. It’s a beanie style hat with a slight slouch and a faux fur pom to top it off.

Yarn: James C. Brett Flutterby Chunky (100% Supersoft Polyester; 192 yards [175 meters]/100 grams): B34 (1 (1, 1, 1, 1) ball)

Needles: US size 7 (4.5 mm) 16” circular, US size 8 (5 mm) 16” circular, US size 8 (5 mm) DPNs

Notions: Stitch markers (3; of which one should be distinct), cable needle, chenille needle, 4” faux fur pompom (optional)

4/4 RC: Sl 4 to CN and hold at back of work, k4 from LH needle, k4 from CN.

Finishing

Break yarn. Pass the yarn tail through the live sts and draw tight to fasten. Weave in all ends.

Wash the hat according to the instructions on the ball band. Arrange the hat to the dimensions given and allow to dry. You may wish to dry the hat over a balloon to avoid creases down the sides.

Sew the pompom on to the top of the hat.
