Right Direction Cowl

This squishy, colorful cowl gives the wearer a sense of being wrapped in cozy luxury. Quick and easy, it is worked in the round with a simple Fair Isle arrow pattern. This is a great pattern to use up your leftover yarn since only 50 grams are needed for the contrasting colors.

Size: 27.4” / [70 cm] x 9.3” / [23.6 cm]

Gauge: 14 sts and 16 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in St st using larger needles after wet blocking

Needles: US size 10 (6 mm): 29” / [74 cm] long circular; US size US 8 (5 mm): 29” / [74 cm] long circular or circular needles two sizes smaller than gauge needle.

Notions: Tapestry needle; stitch marker

Special Stitches

K1, P1 Ribbing

Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * around.

Rep Rnd 1 for patt.

Pattern Notes

Cowl is worked bottom up in one piece.

Pattern

With smaller needles and MC, CO 104 sts. Join in the rnd, being careful not to twist.

Work in K1, P1 Ribbing for 1” / [2.54 cm].

Change to larger needles.

Knit 1 rnd.

Begin Chart, working patt 26 times around.

After Chart Rnd 29 is complete, knit 1 rnd.

Change to smaller needles and work in K1, P1 Ribbing for 1” / [2.54 cm].

Finishing

Weave in all ends. Block.
