Quick knits are a warm welcome for relaxing days at the cabin. Bands of stockinette and reverse stockinette stitches add thickness and make this cowl reversible. The cowl is knit just to fit over the head and keep the neck and shoulders warm.

Size: One size fits all
Gauge: 8 sts and 16 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (80% Acrylic, 20% Wool; 106 yards [97 meters]/170 grams): 610 Hudson Bay (1 ball)
Needles: US size 13 (9.0 mm) 24” circular
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle

This pattern is worked in the round from the top down and is reversible.
Pattern
CO 60 sts, pm, join to work in the rnd, but be sure to twist once around the needle before joining. This will create the twist in the finished cowl.
Rnds 1-4: Knit every stitch (stockinette), slipping marker.
Rnds 5-8: Purl every stitch (reverse stockinette), slipping marker.
Rep Rnds 1-8, 3 more times, there are four bands of stockinette and four bands of reverse stockinette.
BO all sts loosely in purl sts.
Finishing
Weave in all ends.

I am not getting what you mean by “twisting once around the needle” to create the twist in the finished cowl – maybe I’m just having a dense moment lol. Thanks!
