 Drops Karisma DK (100% wool; 109 yards [100 meters]/ 50 grams): #07 Bright Blue (MC, 3 (3, 4, 5) balls), #50 Green Mix (CC1, 1 (1, 1, 1) ball), #13 Cerise (CC2, 1 (1, 1, 1) ball), #47 Forest Green (CC3, 1 (1, 1, 1) ball), #52 Dark Mustard (CC4, 1 (1, 1, 1) ball)

Needles: US size 3 (3.25 mm) straight and 16” circular needles, US size 6 (4.5 mm) straight and 16” circular needles

Notions: Stitch holders, tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Picot Cast On: *CO 5 sts, BO 2 sts, slip the st on RH needle on to LH needle (3 sts on RH needle); rep from * to end.

Picot Bind Off: BO 3 sts, *slip the st on the RH needle onto the LH needle, CO 2 sts, BO 5 sts; rep from * to end.

Pattern Notes

The dress is worked flat from the bottom up and seamed.

The edges of the dress are worked using a picot cast on and picot bind off.

The armhole edges are worked flat and seamed.

*With smaller needle and CC 1, work Picot Cast On until there are 83 (83, 87, 87) sts on needle.

Work 2 rows in Garter St.

Break yarn.

Set Up Row for Chart

Change to larger needle and with MC k20 (20, 21,21), with CC2 k1, with MC k20 (20, 21, 21), with CC3 k1, with MC k20 (20, 21, 21), with CC4 k1, with MC k20 (20, 21, 21).

Cont to work from chart until piece measures approx 5½” [14 cm].

Dec 1 st at each end of  next and every following 2nd (4th, 4th, 4th) row until there are 51 (69, 69, 79) sts on needle.

Dec 1 st at each end of every RS row until there are – (57, 63, 67) sts.

Cont to work even from chart until piece measures approx 11 (11½, 12¾, 13¼)” [27 (29, 33, 36) cm]. *

Shape Armholes

BO 2 (3, 4, 4) sts at beg of next 2 row. (47 (51, 55, 59) sts)

Dec 1 st at each end of next and all RS rows until there are 43 (45, 49, 51) sts.

Work 9 rows even.

Shape Neck

With RS facing, k16 (17, 19, 19) sts. Turn work leaving remaining sts on spare needle or holder.

Purl 1 row

Dec 1 st at neck edge on every RS row until there are 11 (12, 13, 13) sts on needle.

Work 7 (9, 9, 9) rows even.

BO all sts.

Slip 11 (11, 11, 13) sts (Front Neck) on to holder. Join yarn and work other side of neck edge to match, reversing the shaping.

Back

Work as for Front from * to *, disregarding chart 1.

Armhole Shaping

Work Armhole Shaping as for Front while at the same time begin working from chart 2.

When chart is completed, work even until Armhole measures 1¼ (1½, 1½, 2¼)” [3¼ (4¾, 4¾, 5½) cm]

Shape Neck

With RS facing, k14 (15, 17, 17) sts. Turn work leaving remaining sts on spare needle or holder.

Purl 1 row.

Dec 1 st on every RS row until there are 11 (12, 13, 13) sts.

Work until Armhole measures 4½ (5, 5½, 5¾)” [11½ (14, 14¼, 15½) cm].

BO all sts.

Slip 15 (15, 15, 17) sts (Back Neck) on to holder. Join yarn and work other side of neck edge to match, reversing the shaping.

Neck Edging

Join left shoulder seams together.

With RS facing, using larger circular needle and CC4 pick up and k11 (12, 13, 14) sts down Right Back Neck, 15 (15, 15, 17) sts from Back holder, pick up and k11 (12, 13, 14) sts from Left Back Neck, pick up and k15 (16, 17, 17) sts from Left Front Neck, 11 (11, 11, 13) sts from Front holder and pick up and k15 (16, 17, 17) sts from Right Front Neck. (78 (82, 86, 92) sts)

Work 2 rows in Garter St.

Change to smaller circular needle and work Picot Bind Off.

Armhole Edging

Join right shoulder seams.

Right Armhole

With RS facing, using larger circular needle and CC3, pick up and k58 (62, 66, 72) sts.

Work 2 rows in Garter St.

Change to smaller circular needle and work Picot Bind Off.

Left Armhole

Using CC2, work the same as Right Armhole Edging.

Finishing

Weave in all ends. Gently soak and block to measurements.
