This stuffed toy is made of 3 segments, which are in turn each made of 4 wedges – 12 wedges total. It is stuffed and joined as you go. Simple crochet slip stitches join the wedges together to make the segments.

With A, CO 5 sts. Divide as evenly as possible among 3 DPNs and join to work in the rnd.
Rnd 1: Knit.
Rnd 2: (Kfb) 5 times – 10 sts.
Rnd 3: Knit.
Rnd 4: (Kfb, k1) 5 times – 15 sts.
Rnd 5: Knit.
Rnd 6: (Kfb, k2) 5 times – 20 sts.
Rnd 7: Knit.
Rnd 8: (Kfb, k3) 5 times – 25 sts.
Rnd 9: Knit.
Rnd 10: (Kfb, k4) 5 times – 30 sts.

Top of Wedge
Divide sts evenly among 4 DPNs. Weave in CO tail.
Rnd 1: With B, *(k1, k2tog) twice, k8, (k2tog, k1) twice; rep from * once more – 32 sts.
Rnd 2: With B, knit.
Rnd 3: With C, *k1, (k2tog) twice, k6, (k2tog) twice, k1; rep from * once more – 24 sts.
Rnd 4: With C, knit.
Rnd 5: With D, *(k2tog) twice, k4, (k2tog) twice; rep from * once more – 16 sts.
Rnd 6: With D, knit.
Stuff Wedge moderately full.
Rnd 7: With D, *(k2tog) 8 times – 8 sts rem.
Break yarn leaving 10” tail. Place additional stuffing in Wedge to maintain its moderate fullness. Place first 4 sts on one DPN and last 4 sts on another DPN. Join the two sets of sts using Kitchener St.
Segment (make 3)
With E, make a slipknot and place on crochet hook.
Rnd 1: Beg at first purl bump from Rnd 16 of each Wedge and working counterclockwise around each Wedge, *loosely sl st in 20 sts along side of Wedge; rep from * 3 more times (4 Wedges total), join with sl st to same purl bump as beg sl st was worked, being careful not to twist Wedges.
Rnd 2: Turn, beg with unworked side of last Wedge worked in Rnd 1, *loosely sl st in rem 20 sts along side of Wedge, sl st in last sl st made from Rnd 2 on next Wedge; rep from * 3 more times. Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
Assembly
Slip one segment around another segment with Wedge points facing inward. Slip the third segment around the other two, so that a Wedge points nests in each quadrant.
