Knit Picks recently released High Desert, its first 100% American-made yarn line for hand knitters. With a 20.5-micron count, High Desert is made from wool supplied by Shaniko Wool Company that comes from Merino and Merino/Rambouillet sheep living on family ranches throughout the American West. The wool for High Desert is processed in South Carolina and dyed and milled in North Carolina and comes in an earthy jewel-toned spectrum of 12 beautiful colors inspired by the landscape and skyline of Oregon’s High Desert. A smooth, rounded yarn with a soft hand, available in sport weight (298 yards/100 grams) and worsted weight (217 yards/100 grams), High Desert is ideal for knitting texture, cables, and colorwork. It retails for $18.99 and is available at https://www.knitpicks.com/high-desert. High Desert is the first of multiple lines in a collection of high-quality 100% American-made yarn originating from Shaniko Wool Company wool that will be available exclusively through KnitPicks.com. Release of the next line in the collection is planned for Fall/Winter 2021.
I do not find an option to subscribe to the magazine only. Your “Gold” membership seems a ridiculously high price. The math is not too tough $.93 per day = $339.45 per year. Who would pay that?
Hi Kathleen! I apologize for any confusion, but it’s actually $.93 a week, not per week. You can learn more information here: https://www.ilikeknitting.com/subscription-offers/gold-club/
Let me know if you have any additional question! – Nicola, Editor
