Boot cuffs are a great way to achieve the look of chunky socks without the bulk. This pattern has no shaping, so it’s a good project if you want to branch out into cables. They’re knit in the round and are offered in seven sizes so you can make matching sets for family members. Plus, you can make them in multiple colors to change up your outfit or give them away as trendy but quick gifts.

Cables will give you a much tighter gauge than in stockinette. It is very important to get gauge in the Cable Pattern so your boot cuffs fit. Work your gauge swatch in the round and use a multiple of 6 sts for the swatch.

Is there a chart for the pattern?
Hi! There is not a chart at this time.
Blue, navy blue.
I made something similar for a friend a few years ago in grey and black. tall boot ones in black rib/grey cable and short boot in grey rib/black cable (so she could tell them apart quickly. 🙂 ) How can I send a picture?
I would knit these in a chocolate brown for my daughter-in-law. Thank you for this pattern.
Silver gray or soft gold to contrast with my cadet blue boots.
Would probably be in an ombre colors including purple, violet, burgundy, moss green
Dark purple to match my favourite coat
Black, grey, or red
forest green
Probably purple, to match my boots.
Purple, blue, fuchia varigated
Mine would be emerald green.
I love a pop of colour but it’d really depend on the colour of boots I was pairing it with. Maybe something neutral like a cream, or charcoal. Maybe something speckled, or tweed.
I would love these in any color, but probably a natural color for the first pr + then nice purple pr. Cables work in any color!!!
grey
Love the pattern
Yippee I O Ki A
Cream of course
Either an off white or light brown color to coordinate with boots.
Red 🙂 I love wearing bright colours in the cold lower light months of the year.
My first inclination was a chocolatey brown, but then I thought, it’s winter, why not a bright color?! If I was wearing jeans, I’d go for something like a bright green. Maybe a fall leaf tweedy orange, as well.
Burgundy or a deep wine. I love those colors. But maybe an ombre charcoal to cream…
Love finding new boot cuff patterns! So quick and easy for presents thought the year!
Cream
I’d make some in grey first, then probably a medium blue!
Charcoal tweed.
Purple. Always.
Either grey or red.
I would make these in many colors to go with all of my granddaughters outfits!
Great Gifts for teenage nieces
Red to match a cowl I am making. Plus it is festive
A brown shade would be lovely.
Off white to go with a lovely aran sweater
I’d make these in dark blue or purple.
A nice gray maybe since it’s so versatile. Or maybe a dusty rose shade (I think rose/pink goes fantastic with brown, the colour of my boots)
Chestnut Brown definitely! Thanks!
I would knit this boot cuff in each of the primary colors on the color wheel but in pastels. That way, I could wear this pattern no matter what I was wearing for the day except if I had to dress up in formal wear. A girl has to be prepared. 🙂
I would use an oatmeal color. I find that goes with most things in my wardrobe.
I would use a cream color, a traditional Aran color. Would go well with brown boots, black boots, red boots.
I would probably use a light color so they would not blend in with darker leggings.
I would use a light gray. Super cute!
Whatever color I had on hand would be lovely. I can picture dark red or royal blue or cream. But those are not colors in my ‘stash’.
I’d make them in a taupe tweed to accent the beautiful cables. Thank you for the pattern.
I would totally make these boot cuffs in a nice cream color! Goes with everything!
I’d love to knit them in white.
Several pairs in several colors seems the most reasonable answer to me.
I think these would be pretty in a creamy tweed.
I would make several in various colors to jazz up my outfit. I think red, yellow and pink are a must!
I will make in blue.
Thanks for the pattern.
Cream
I would pick a natural color tweed.
will this pattern be suitable for leggings also?
That would be an interesting thing to try! We think you’d be able to make something work! Let us know how it goes.
Thank-you. Can’t wait to make them.
Thank-you!
