Size: 7.25” circumference x 2.75” tall
Gauge: 36 sts and 38 rows = 4” [10cm] in stranded colorwork.
Yarn: Malabrigo Sock (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 440 yds [402m] / 100g) Matisse Blue 415 (MC 1 Skein) Polar Morn 009 (CC 1 Skein)
Needles: US size 1.5 (2.5 mm) DPNs
Notions: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle
Abbreviations
M1L: Make 1 left leaning increase by picking up the loop between sts with your left needle from front to back and knitting it through the back.
M1R: Make 1 right leaning increase by pciking up the loop between the sts with your left needle from back to front and knitting it through the front.
Pattern Notes
All four of the baubles are worked exactly the same, in the round from the bottom up, the chart is repeated four times around the bauble.
Special Stitches
Icord: *K3, slide the sts to the other end of the DPN, pull the yarn across the back of the sts; rep from * until desired length.
Pattern
Leaving an 8” tail and using MC for the striped, heart and snowflake balls and CC for the reindeer ball CO 12sts placing a marker after every 3rd stitch. Join to work in the rnd being careful not to twist.
Work rnds 1-39 of chart (chart is repeated 4 times around the ball).
Start stuffing the ball after rnd 33.
Once all rnds have been worked make sure that the ball is tightly stuffed, break yarn, thread through the remaining 12sts, pull tight and secure.
Finishing
Place the tail from the CO onto a needle and thread through the CO sts to tighten the hole and secure. Weave in all ends.
To make the hanging loop PU and K 3 sts from the top of the bauble, using 2 of the DPNs work a 3” Icord, bind off the 3sts and sew the end of the Icord to the top of the bauble close to where the sts were picked up.
