Hello Antonietta! I’ve reached out to the designer for advice and she or I will reply as soon as possible. Thanks! – Nicola, Editor
The “twice” in the fern pattern is for swatching a multiple of 16 stitches. When the “fern pattern” is specified over a certain number of stitches in the pattern of the cover-up, one repeats the sixteen stitches of each repeat of the fern pattern across those stitches (or for the specified number of repeats). After the fern pattern is done once around the bottom of the cover up the fern pattern will be done on the back and plain stockinette (all knit stitches) will be done on the front.
Please help fern pattern says twice what do you do for the rest of the row?
