Note: Instructions for knitting flat and in the round provided. In the round instructions are in parenthesis for each step. Please note when knitting flat, an extra stitch is used at beginning and end of each row to create an edge. When knitting in the round, the extra stitch at beginning and end of round is not needed. In addition, to maintain the same look for each, it is necessary to purl for steps 7 and 13 when knitting flat. When knitting in the round, steps 7 and 13 are worked using the knit stitch.
Step 1: Cast on any even number of stitches + 2 extra for a side edge if working flat.
Step 2: Knit one stitch (flat only, no extra stitch when working in the round).
Step 3: Yarn over.
Step 4: Knit two together.
Step 5: Continue working (yo, k2tog) across the row until one stitch remains (flat only, no extra stitch at end when working in the round)
Step 6: Knit the last stitch (flat only, no extra stitch at end when working in the round).
Step 7: Purl each stitch of the row (Knit each stitch if working in the round).
Step 8: Knit one stitch (flat only, no extra stitch when working in the round).
Step 9: Knit two together.
Step 10: Yarn over.
Step 11: Continue working (k2tog, yo) across the row until one stitch remains. (flat only, no extra stitch at end when working in the round).
