Special Techniques

I-Cord Cast On

Step 1: Using and a Long-Tail Cast On, CO 3 sts. Slip these 3 sts back to the left-hand needle.

Step 2: Knit 2, kfb. Slip these 4 sts back to left-hand needle.

Repeat Step 2 until the desired number of sts is cast on, being sure to include initial 3 cast-on sts in the stitch count.

This cast on will create a small tab at the beginning of the piece which sticks out a little from the neckline. This tab can easily be tacked down in finishing.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked seamlessly from the top down using contiguous sleeve shaping. It is knit flat to the bottom of the V-neck, then joined and knit in the round to the bottom hem. An I-Cord edge is created along the neckline by slipping the first 2 and last 2 stitches of every wrong side row.
