A Note from the Editor
Whether it’s warm where you live or the ground is dusted with snow, the holiday season is officially here! For many of us that means running around from shop to shop, looking for suitable presents for everyone on our gift list. (Remember that year I had all my Christmas shopping finished by Black Friday? Neither do I.) But all kidding aside, shopping for gifts isn’t only difficult and time consuming, it can be very impersonal. Even when I do find gifts to get excited about, it’s always lacking something. That personal touch of mine is gone. Buying things just isn’t the same as giving something handmade.
That’s why in our first issue of I Like Knitting, we’ve acquired everything you need, from gift ideas to décor. Transform your home into a winter wonderland with classic holiday patterns like the Fireside Christmas Stocking or the Classic Christmas Ornaments. And discover the perfect gift to knit for everyone on your list using our helpful gift guide.
Plus, make sure you don’t miss the beginning of our festive Fair Isle series. This time around you’ll get to make the gorgeous Traditional Fair Isle Cardigan. Stay tuned for next month: we’ll be knitting up the cutest pig-and-hearts hat you’ve ever seen.

The essence of the Beaded Beanie is the beaded trees in a multitude of colours. There are several different ways of adding beads to your knitting, one of which involves threading the beads onto the yarn in advance. For this, a beading needle really helps, but any thin needle will also work - just ensure… Read More
