Abbreviations

German Short Row or German Turn and Work (GTW) – A nearly invisible short row technique, work to desired turn, turn work, hold yarn to front, slip stitch to right needle and lift working yarn uo and over pulling tightly, creating a double st. Work to next turn as instructed and repeat. All double sts created will be knit as one stitch on following row.

i-cord: Longtail cast on 3 stitches to a DPN, without turning work, slip stitches to other end of needle with working yarn to the left. Bring working yarn around back to knit the 3 stitches. Continue to slip stitches to the other end of the DPN and knit the 3 sts, until desired length. When length is reached, knit the 3 stitches together, break yarn, and pull through remaining st.

Lace CO: Go into the stitch on your left needle (with your right needle) as if to knit/purl twist the new stitch and replace to the left needle, repeat until desired number of stitches are cast on.

Cable CO:  *Knit a stitch from between the two stitches on left needle, twist, and replace to left needle* repeat from *to *, until desired number of stitches are cast on.

Pattern Notes

Raspberry Rose is a tunic style pullover with neck ties, worked from the bottom up.

It has a flared bottom edge and slight bell of the 3/4 length sleeves.

The rose motif is worked over the bottom edges of the body and sleeves.

The neckline is a V with i-cord tie closure.

The Neck opening over the yoke may be worked flat. Omit the 4 steek sts and work back and forth in rows in stockinette.

Short Row 3: Knit to 4 sts past the double st created by the GTW, then work GTW.

With MC and smaller needles, work a 3 st i-cord approx. 52-58” long.

Finish off.

Finishing

Graft underarm sts.

Weave in all ends. Block sweater and i-cord.

With any CC, embroider a simple running st around the neck closure for a bit of colour.

Weave i-cord into holes and tie bead/beads to each end.
