Super fine weight yarnYarn: Knit Picks Palette (100% Wool; 231 yards [211 meters]/50 grams): 26042 Hare heather (MC, 2 balls), 25093 Peony (CC1, 1 ball), 25099 Tarragon (CC2, 1 ball), 23724 Sky (CC3, 1 ball), 23718 Blush (CC4, 1 ball), 25095 Caribbean (CC5, 1 ball), 25531 Canary (CC6, 1 ball)

Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) 24” straight, US size 4 (3.5 mm) 36” circular for the crescent part

Pattern Notes

The first row of scallops is worked separately. For the 2nd row, 2 scallops are placed next to each other with RS facing you and stitches for the 2nd row is picked up with MC at the top edge of the two scallops. The 3rd row is worked same as 2nd row but with colors CC1 through CC6.

If you pick up more stitches than the 27 needed, decrease them on the second row to get the required 27 stitches.

Pattern

Main Scallop (Chart 1)

With each color (CC1 through CC6), CO 27 sts for the first row of scallops. Follow the diagram to know which color to use. For Row 2, work the scallops with MC and for Row 3, pick up and knit 27 sts with each color (CC1 through CC6). Follow the diagram to know which color to use.

Row 1 (RS): K27.

Row 2 (WS): K27.

Rows 3, 7, 11: K2, (yo, k2tog) 12 times, k1.

Rows 4, 8, 12: P27.

Rows 5, 6, 9, 10, 13: K27.

Row 14: K2, (k2tog, k1) 7 times, k2tog, k2. (19 sts) 

Rows 15, 17, 18, 19, 21: K19.

Rows 16, 20: P19.

Row 22: (K1, k2tog) 6 times, k1. (13 sts)

Rows 23, 25: K13.

Rows 24: P13.

Row 26: K2, (k2tog) 5 times, k1. (8 sts)

Row 27: K8.

Row 4: P27.

Row 5: K1, ssk, k21, k2tog, k1. (25 sts)

Row 6: K25.

Row 7: K1, (k2tog, yo) 10 times, (k2tog) twice. (23 sts)

Row 8: P23.

Row 9: K1, ssk, k17, k2tog, k1. (21 sts)

Row 10: K21.

Row 11: K1, (k2tog, yo) 8 times, (k2tog) twice. (19 sts)

Row 12: P19.

Row 13: K1, ssk, k13, k2tog, k1. (17 sts) 

Row 14: K1, (k2tog, k1) 4 times, (k2tog) twice. (11 sts)

With MC and RS facing you, pick up and knit from the straight edge of the scallops, as shown in the diagram, 226 sts.Crescent Section

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: K118. Turn.

Row 3: Sl1p, k9. Turn.

Row 4: Sl1p, knit to next turned st, ssk the turned st with the next st, k2. Turn.

Rep Row 4 until all sts are worked. (154 sts)

Dec Row: (K2tog, k9) 14 times. (140 sts)

Dec Row + 1: Knit.

Dec Row + 2: *K1, yo, k2tog; rep from *, end with k1.

Dec Row + 3: Knit.

BO all sts loosely.

Finishing

Weave in all ends. Block shawlette to size.
