Sarah Dawn

sarah-dawn

Sarah Dawn has been fascinated by knitting since first learning how to knit at the age of 5, and loving (almost all of) it. When she’s not knitting, she’s reteaching herself to crochet and learning to spin. Beyond yarn, her other vices include earl grey tea, video games, and curling up with a good book.

Currently, she lives in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada, area, along with her roommate and two cats. She finds this whole ‘write about yourself in the third person’ thing rather awkward, but it seems to work out alright.

Heritage Tweed Vest

The Heritage Tweed Vest is a versatile, unisex pattern designed for bulky yarn, making it a super-cozy layering piece perfect for cooler weather. This vest can be dressed up with a collared shirt for the office or paired with a casual shirt for a relaxed look, ideal for enjoying a mug of hot chocolate.

The vest is knit in the round from the bottom up, then split for the armholes and knit flat. The shoulders are shaped with short rows and finished with a three-needle bind off. The collar and armholes are edged with one-by-one ribbing, picked up and knit around the openings, adding a polished finish to this classic piece.

Crisial Cowl

The Crisial (Welsh for “crystal”) Cowl was inspired by the geometric shapes of crystals. It uses a simple two-stitch cable to create twists that make for a classic textural piece you’ll want to wear all season long.  Both aran and heavy worsted weight yarn would work well with this project.
