Brenda Castiel

brenda-castiel

I’ve been knitting on and off since my teens, but became somewhat obsessed with it in 2007. I love squishy wools for the short, mild Los Angeles winters, and like light-weight wools, cottons and blends for the rest of the year. I really believe that even beginner knitters can create something beautiful and useful, so I strive to keep patterns simple yet original.

I have sold designs to Interweave Knits, Vogue Knitting, Knit Picks, Knit Now magazine, Classic Elite Yarns, and Three Irish Girls Yarns, and have been published in several books.

Hidden Pocket Pillow

This pillow has a clean, modern design that will fit every décor. Made with an easy textured stitch – just knits and purls – that creates crisp squares with a knot in each center, this pillow features a pocket, where you can keep your TV remote, or anything else you want to keep handy.

Bowtie Tank

This sweet little tank features knitted-in bows at the shoulders, a scoop neck, and a yoke with a softly gathered “skirt” below. The skirt is edged with a touch of feminine lace that creates a scalloped edge and feature little eyelets along the lower third of the a-line skirt for a fresh delicate look.

Water Bottle Cozy

A snazzy bottle holder with a shoulder strap is a great way to make sure you always have your water bottle handy. The yarn carrier absorbs the condensation, so you can toss it in the car or into a tote bag without worrying about getting things wet. The easy lace pattern expands to fit any size bottle and an I-cord provides a sturdy strap.
