This is the size of the sample, please keep in mind the size of your shawl will vary depending on your yarn yardage.

Pattern Notes

This shawl is worked sideways. It is increased over approximately the first 25% of the skein, worked even over the next approximate 50%, and then decreased the rest of the yarn’s weight.

You will need to weigh your yarn on a yarn scale before and as you knit this shawl.

The shawl is broken up into two sections separated by a stitch marker, the body and the border.

The Body is the “Increase/Even/Decrease Section” will increase 1 stitch every other row. (By the end of each 4 row repeat, you will have increased 2 stitches.) Increase until you have used 25% of your yarn’s weight. Then work this section even, meaning, no more increases, until you have used 75% of the yarn’s total weight. Once, you have 25% of your yarn’s weight remaining, decrease 1 stitch every other row. (By the end of each repeat, you will have decreased 2 stitches.)

Once you have successfully decreased back to the original 30 stitches, follow finishing instructions.

The Border is the lace section and the stitch counts will remain the same.

Please pay special attention to the ssp (slip, slip purl) stitch. This stitch is purled through the back loop.

Please remember, you need to repeat the sections according to your own yarn skein yardage.
