A Note from the Editor
Yarn all over the floor, knitting needles spilling out from a tipped-over bag, patterns scattered over the coffee table – does any of this sound familiar? If you’re like me, organizing isn’t something that comes naturally. While I don’t like messiness, I seem to gravitate towards it. One night I’ll be too tired to put my knitting away, and then I’ll start another project the next day. Of course, I get too tired the next night and decide to leave the project #2 out. Before I know it, my projects are practically taking over the apartment and I’m struggling to figure out where anything is.
While it might seem daunting, getting your yarn stash organized isn’t as tricky as you might think—it just takes persistence and a game plan! If you’re in need of some guidance (like I am), check out our article, Organize Your Yarn Stash Once and for All, for some tips and tricks for keeping things tidy.
Once you’re organized, get ready to celebrate the day of love this Valentine’s Day by knitting up some precious designs for your family, friends or significant other. We’ve included some gorgeous patterns including the Sweetheart Shawl, the Valentino Scarf and the String of Hearts Armwarmers. Once that’s passed, have fun working up some of our favorite cozy projects for winter, including the Classic Cozy Beanie, the Snow Day Mittens and the Pear Trellis Poncho.
No matter what your goal is this year — to get organized, to knit more for yourself, or to just knit more in general — I hope you enjoy this special winter issue.
